I like Matthew Reilly and Tom Clancy books. I’ve thought about reading Dale Brown books. I am really into special ops and modern day times, nothing Vietnam or before. I like fictional characters that tend to be lucky.
I also like Clive Cussler’s Dirk Pitt series

Ken Follett writes awesome war stories. And they’re quite modern too. Check out his website.
