i’ve been asked to get information on Adolf Hitler and i need information on him in world war two…
Why don’t you google his name there is so much information on this man. He was a nutcase who took advantage of the German people during the depression.
I was just wondering if anyone knew of any good military books, both modern and historical?
ok, sorry for the lack of detail. i have read the prince, and the art of war, and i am both looking for novels, and non fiction books
I could give you a long list, but one I’d highly recommend right now is T.X. Hammes’ "The Sling and the Stone." Since its publication a few years ago, I’ve noticed he’s becoming a "talking head" on more and more TV programs.
1. Evaluate Lincoln’s leadership and explain how he changed the war aim of the Union.
2. Evaluate Grant’s military strategy that won the war
3. Describe the role women had in the Civil War and evaluate how the war affected their position in society.
please help me
From Shmoop History/The Civil War
1. Lincoln was a strong president. His original goal was for a strong federal government and for slavery to NOT expand. The goal shifted to be about freeing the slaves later in teh war.
2. During the Civil War, Grant was the only Union general who could equal southern general Robert E. Lee.
3. War led to the dislocation of American society on an unprecedented scale.
Women bore the brunt of the home-front hardships. Many were forced to manage small farms themselves. Women made bandages from lint, nursed wounded men back to health, and worried about their loved ones on the fighting front. In the Midwest, thousands of women did the best they could to keep their lives together while men were away, and all dreaded the fateful telegrams with the lists of the dead.
It’s hard to believe but they aren’t going to make the original Hummer any longer. What will the US military use now?
Yes, GM is discontinuing the HUMMER…. but AM General is the actual builder of the military specification High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle. Its not just symantics… the two vehicles share some similarities, but they are markedly different.
As per the Program Executive Office and the United States Tank and Automotive Command… the HMMWV isn’t going anywhere. It’ll be here for many more years.
I need some good war books to read. I prefer Modern War like Iraq and Afganistan and also I prefer real stories rather than made up fiction. I am new to reading and I read ‘Apache’ by Ed Macy and ‘Apache Dawn’ by Damien Lewis and really enjoyed them, so anything similar to that would be good. Thanks!
How about some Classics.
The Cruel Sea – N.Monserrat.
Enigma – H.S. Montefiore
Bomber – Len Deighton.
All thoroughly enjoyable – guaranteed.
Best Wishes
Before the start of WWII, the infamous Black Dragon Society of Japan, with the help of the Nazis, employ a noted plastic surgeon to transform six Japanese operatives into look-alikes for six highly placed American businessmen. The plan is to kill the Americans, replace them with the Japanese, and undermine the American war effort from the inside. The plastic surgeon who makes it all possible, played by Bela Lugosi, is betrayed by the Japanese government and imprisoned so he can’t tell anyone about the evil plan. He escapes and travels to America, where he kills five of the Japanese impostors, one by one. An American detective must find the killer’s identity before he kills the last man.
